«Спокій, радість, щастя, насправді важко передати словами, що я відчуваю зараз», – ділиться враженнями 21-річна Анастасія, мама-одиначка двох чудових дітлахів – 4-річного Богдана та 2-річної Ангеліни.
Минулої п’ятниці для молодої мами та її дітей розпочалася нова сторінка життя – вони заїхали у власний дім!
Це стало можливим завдяки багатьом небайдужим, які відгукнулись на наш заклик допомоги родині Анастасії у листопаді 2019 року.
У Насті непроста життєва історія… Дівчина разом з дітьми мешкає у с. Вільхове Станично-Луганського району, що знаходиться у 10-ти кілометровій зоні від лінії розмежування. Батько дітей з родиною не проживає і жодної допомоги не надає. Настя залишилася наодинці з власними проблемами. У лютому 2019 року вона звернулася по допомогу до Луганського відділення СОС Дитячі Містечка Україна. Родина перебувала у складному матеріальному становищі, молодій мамі не вистачало знань про догляд і виховання дітей. У березні того ж року трагічно загинула мама Насті.
Наступним тяжким ударом для Анастасії та малечі Богдана і Ангеліни була пожежа в будинку, де вони проживали у квітні 2019. Їхнє житло і все майно повністю згоріли. Після цього родина мешкала у невеличкому будинку, де Насті з дітьми тимчасово дозволили пожити сусіди. Умови були зовсім непідходящими для дітей і створювали ризики для їх здоров’я. Та інших варіантів для молодої мами з двома дітьми не було, оскільки в Луганській області з 2014 року так і не було створено центру матері і дитини чи притулку для жінок, постраждалих від домашнього насилля, де б мами з дітьми знаходили тимчасовий прихисток.
Далі ми розказали історію Насті та її дітей на наших ресурсах та на сторінках Інна Щербак, Дарья Касьянова та завдяки ТСН і Світка Березівська змогли висвітлили її на широкий загал. Було багато відгуків та внесків, що дали змогу зібрати необхідну суму на придбання будинку – 126 237 гривень. Дякуємо усім, хто долучався фінансово, підтримував інформаційно?
Протягом декількох місяців тривав пошук та підбір підходящого житла, розглядалися різні локації в Луганській області. Врешті-решт Настя прийняла рішення залишитись у рідному селі Вільхове, де має підтримку сусідів і знайомих.
10 липня 2020 року був придбаний будинок для Богдана, Ангеліни та їх мами Анастасії. Впевнені, що діти та мама знайдуть власне щастя та затишок у новому домі????

“I feel confident. My children have a home. They feel safe.” After months of despair and uncertainty, Anastasia finally relaxed. In early July 2020, she and her two little children moved into their own home.
21-year-old Anastasia was born in a small village in Luhansk region in Eastern Ukraine. She still lives there, just few kilometres from the contact line amidst an armed conflict that seems never-ending.
Hoping to find peace and stability, Anastasia started a family, but her partner abandoned her after they had the second child. Anastasia and her two children, three -year-old Bogdan and one-year-old Angelina, lived with Anastasia’s mother in an old, modest house.
In early spring 2019 Anastasia’s mother died. One month later, bad wiring caused a fire and within minutes the house was gone. Anastasia had nowhere to go and no one to turn to.
The neighbours took pity of the young and confused mother, and allowed the little family to stay for a year in a house heavily damaged by the fighting and built over a century ago. The family survived off the small maternity payments and occasional day-wage Anastasia would make as farmhand.
Anastasia did her best to make the house a decent place for her children. She patched the holes in the walls and ceiling, and covered the window cracks. Still, once it got colder little Angelina became seriously ill and was hospitalized. Bogdan stayed with a neighbour while his mom nursed his sister.
The risk of the children being taken away from their mom became fast approaching reality. The young mom was constantly in a state of emotional stress.
By this time, Anastasia and her children started receiving support from SOS Children’s Villages. Katerina Profatilova, social worker of the organization, recognized that the housing would solve many of their problems. But, in the Luhansk region there are no shelters for women and children.
“We help over 1000 children a year in the Luhansk region.” Katerina explains. “Half of these children are from single parent families, a quarter have sibling or parent with disability, and more than half need better living conditions urgently!”
SOS Children’s Villages is currently looking for ways to establish a temporary shelter for mothers and children in the Luhansk region. For many children such shelter will mean the difference between growing up in an orphanage or growing up safe with their parents.
Anastasia and her children couldn’t wait. Considering the urgency, SOS Children’s Villages called for public support and managed to raise 4000 Euros needed to purchase a small house. When they moved in their new home in July 2020, Anastasia said she’s proud to live with two homeowners. The house deed is in the name of little Bogdan and Angelina.
The family continues to receive psychological counselling and in-kind help until Anastasia manages to find a job. Establishing a shelter for women and children in the Luhansk region will allow many families to stay together and rebuild their lives. The need is great.
